What is counselling?

Counselling is a safe place to understand and deal with your problems. We can look at your feelings, experiences, thoughts, and values. When you feel stuck, we will work together to calmly find ways to manage these challenges.

How many sessions do I need?

This depends on your personal needs. Some people choose long-term therapy, lasting 6 months to 2 years, while others feel they only need 6 sessions. After the first assessment, we can suggest what might suit you best. We don’t fix the number of sessions unless you want to. Sessions usually happen weekly, but can be every two weeks if agreed.

What type of difficulties do you work with?

I help people with issues such as anxiety, low mood, early eating disorders, trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), developmental trauma, attachment problems, Neuro divergent, relationship struggles and more.

I am a young person are my sessions confidential to my parents or caregiver?

This will be covered in your consultation and first assessment. If you are under 16, a parent or caregiver must sign a consent form. We will then explain what information stays between us and what is shared with your caregiver. Sessions are private unless there is a serious risk of harm to you or others.
